Elementary School Shooting in Townville, SC: 2 Students, 1 Teacher Wounded

Another day, another NRA induced school shooting. Just before 2:00pm (EST), Townville Elementary School was the scene of more senseless gun violence. After shooting and killing his 47-year-old father (Jeffrey D. Osborne), a 14-year-old then drove a pickup truck and rammed into the outer fence of the school, in the small town of Townville, South Carolina (Anderson County). According to authorities, the teen then exited the truck then opened fire on children and school staff on the playground.

Two 6-year-old children and their teacher were shot. One child was struck in the foot, while another other child was shot in the leg. The second child's leg wound required special medical attention and was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital’s emergency trauma center.

Despite suffering a gunshot wound to the shoulder, first-grade teacher Meghan Hollingsworth, was able to safely guide dozens of children back inside the building.   

Volunteer firefighter Jamie Brock, likely saved dozens of lives with his quick decision-making. Brock was the first to reach the school after the shooting and quickly sprang into action. He encountered the gunman on the playground, unarmed him while taking him to the ground and eliminated the mass casualty threat he posed.

Once authorities arrived, the gunman was apprehended.
